Inflammation of a single nerve tract.


The area of the body presenting with tingling, numbness or pain will depend on the nerve innervating the area.

Shown below are two different nerve tracts innervating the different parts of the hand:

Etiology: (many, a few are listed below)

  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Lyme disease

Treatment and management:

depends on the underlying cause.
