Arthritis and Dermatitis Syndrome

An arthropathy caused by N gonorrhoeae.


  • tenosynovitis (inflammation of a tendon and its enveloping sheath)
  • skin rash 
  • fever


  • manifestations
  • History
  • Physical Exam
  • a positive blood culture
  1. most often an asymmetric polyarthralgia
  2. asymmetric joint involvement frequently affects the knee, elbow, wrist, metacarpophalangeal, ankle joints.
  3.  often pts develop a monoarthralgia only

Treatment and Management:

  • treatment of Nesseria Gonorrhoeae infection
  • symptom management
